I was really looking forward to playing this on my new iPad but the display bug is still there... Works great on my iPhone though. Excellent game!
One of the few iPhone games that can keep me playing for hours
Good tactical game, only did first campaign, but looks good.
Brilliant combat system, it has kept me occupied for hours so far.
If you love turn based strategy games then this is a must.
I dont often rate apps, but this game is excellent: an engrossing story, simple interface, deep strategy. You can tell a great deal of care and attention was given to this games development. Ive played nearly every TBS game on the app store and this one is at the top for sure.
Great but "flit to the twins" is IMPOSSIBLE
Game not bad but get really annoying watching EVERY guy move which take forever.
Well worth the money~~
Would love to see more games of this calibre in the app store.
Awesome game! Great turn-based gameplay, detailed setting, engaging storyline... Definitely one of the best games Ive bought from the app store.
Turn based strategy with some unique features that greatly to the amount of thought needed to win. 5 stars, and none of that in app purchase BS ruining games these days.
Its good for what it is. Wish there was a chance for customization or choice of direction army and storywise. It passed some time. And for $5 it was too short.
Gameplay is in depth, fun and a massive storyline. Good job!
There are very few words that describe the sheer creativity put into this app. Buy it.
I made it through the prelude campaign and hardly know what Im doing. Honestly, I find several aspects of the game confusing. Often the map gets cluttered and its hard to tell where your men will be moving. Whether you hit or miss on any given turn is mysterious as is the damage done, so its hard to plan accordingly. I also dont quite get the priority of movement thing - why some units move before others and how/why this changes or doesnt change. Overall, perhaps because everything just seems so random, despite my apparent success so far, it just isnt terribly satisfying. EDIT: OK, after playing through a couple of more campaigns, and having gotten a feel for things (the wheeling movement, the priority of movement thing, etc) my opinion has changed. It definitely requires thinking things through to be successful - so, yes, it becomes quite challenging and, hence, more satisfying when you complete a campaign. So, if like me, youre playing through the prelude and it doesnt quite capture your interest, you might want to give it a chance as it has a way of growing on you. And though Im not a fan of the story per se, I do appreciate the thought that was put into this aspect of the game.
Rating a game just after you start is weird. It good could great and might be after I get into it
I am a long time gamer with a deep history playing strategy/rpg style games. In honesty, this game looks A+ but it plays like a C+ at best. Not being able to use your units each turn is maddening, special powers rarely come into play, units on auto move do things completely counter intuitive to battle etc etc. You can team up units but this barely ever factors into strategy. During the story progression, enemy units are introduced which you have no clear strategy against - the frogs? And the story is long and BORING - but luckily there are 312 characters to follow - so enjoy that. Ive played long enough to realize this game is mostly surface - but no substance. Make the battles more interesting - scrap the number of attack order system - and let your pieces actually do things. Tighten up the story and give us some reason to care about any of this. There is potential here - but this game comes off very half baked.
